Gugak Museum at the National Gugak Center

Have you visited the Gugak Museum at National Gugak Center?

Or Have you been to the National Gugak Center?

It's located in Seochodong, Southern Seoul near Seoul Art center.

Although I am posting about the all-year-round exibition about the museum, the National Gugak Center worhts visit to watch many performances about Korean genuine music.

Mostly, Korean traditional performing arts contains instrumental music and vocal music as well as dance repertoires. Thus, there are always music and dance performing in theaters.

There are basically three theaters which can accomodate upto 600 audiences, 300s, and 100s, plus an amphitheater running under weather conditions.

If you visit the center, there's a big gree artificial grass covered on the ground, where children and anyone can walk or talk on. Right in front of the grass, there's a building called Gugak museum.

Here I happend to visit and brought a brochure about the museum, and introduce to anyone who might be interested.

  • The admission is free of charge,
  • It opens 10am to 6pm everyday, except Monday and January 1st.
